What a busy week! I spent the beginning of the week in San Antonio, TX to partake in the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Leadership Summit. Over two hundred evangelical leaders attended, gathered in support of the Jewish State. On a personal note, I am blown away by the amount of support and love that the Christian community has displayed to their Jewish brethren and through the works of CUFI that support and love will not end anytime soon.
I returned to Virginia on Wednesday, which happened to be my 24th birthday. After unpacking and taking a quick nap, I joined my friends and fiancée for a great dinner at Lynchburg’s Main Street Eatery. If you live in Lynchburg and have never been the Main Street Eatery you are missing out! Megan and I eat there often and the food is excellent. The menu at first may seem intimidating (especially the prices) but everything I have ate there is top notch. I recommend the Steak Frites.
In politics, Donald Trump announced Thursday that he would throw his weight (money) behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. This is a big win for Romney adding to his recent success at the Florida primary. Nevada is the next primary state up for grabs and currently Romney is leading by 20+ points.
Super bowl is this Sunday and for those of you who can’t stand the Patriots or the Giants, may I suggest Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl? I’m only joking (sort of, the puppy bowl is somewhat entertaining) but I have to be honest, I’m not too excited about this year’s game. Being a lifelong San Diego Chargers fan I have had a visible hatred towards the Patriots. Maybe it’s been their winning record or the fact that they are convicted cheaters, I don’t know, but for some reason I can’t stand them. Secondly, I do not mind the Giants, but I hate E. Manning. If you are a sports fan you’ll remember the Manning/ Chargers fiasco after the young quarterback got drafted. I would rather not remember that ordeal, so just Google it. In all of this, I hope Sunday brings a good game filled with great commercials.
Next week preview: I’ll be attending the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington DC, look forward to some awesome stories!
